A Place To Share The View & The Land

The Caterpillar Hill Initiative (CHI) is a conservation organization that engages and encourages people of all ages to deepen their connection to the natural world through blueberry cultivation, outdoor education, the arts, and community building. Our mission is to protect the unique features of Caterpillar Hill, including the scenic view and landscape; fresh water ecosystems and ecological diversity; sustainable blueberry farming and forestry; and access by the community (and dogs on a leash). The property includes the spectacular view spanning Swan's Island, the Deer Isle Bridge, and Penobscot Bay, from Mount Desert Island to Rockland/Thomaston, as well as historic buildings - the Gallery at Caterpillar Hill and Ice House - waterfront on Walker's Pond, wild blueberry barrens, and forested areas.

We are a registered 501(c)(3) and your gifts are tax-deductible.

Please make checks payable to Caterpillar Hill Initiative and mail to:

Bar Harbor Bank, PO Box 804, Blue Hill ME 04614. We are deeply grateful!
